Carrier Mini-Splits
Carrier has 1 system on Mini Split Compare, priced from $2,300 to $2,300. The highest-rated Carrier pick is the Carrier Performance 38MARB 12,000 BTU at ★. Compare the full lineup below.

Carrier's Performance-series single zone is another entry in the Midea rebadge web — it comes out of the Carrier-Midea joint venture, not a Carrier factory — but it's arguably the best-executed version of that hardware. The official submittal sheet backs up the cold-climate marketing: with the 40MAHB high-wall head it delivers its full 12,000 BTU maximum heating output at 5F and keeps operating down to -22F, with a factory base-pan heater and crankcase heater included rather than tacked on. Efficiency is genuinely high at 23.6 SEER2 and roughly 11 HSPF2 (13.0 HSPF legacy). The catch is the Carrier tax: you're paying a third more than the equivalent Midea for dealer-channel distribution, and r/hvacadvice folks are split on whether the badge plus a stronger local service network justifies it. If a trusted Carrier dealer is quoting you fairly, it's a legitimately capable cold-climate unit; if not, the same guts exist for less.
