Haier (GE Appliances) Mini-Splits

The Arctic Series is GE Appliances/Haier quietly building one of the most capable cold-climate units on the US market and telling almost nobody. The Next Gen 12k package posts 27 SEER2 and 13 HSPF2, holds 100% rated heating capacity at 5°F, delivers max heat at -22°F, and Haier claims usable warm air down to -31°F — with a factory base-pan heater and snow-hood compatibility that show it was actually engineered for winter rather than marketed for it. That spec sheet goes toe-to-toe with Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat for noticeably less money. Why isn't r/hvacadvice full of them? Distribution: it sells through appliance and HVAC wholesalers, stock runs thin (the package listing we priced was out of stock), installer familiarity is low, and the warranty story depends on which channel supplied the unit. If your contractor can actually get one, it's a legitimate premium-tier sleeper.
