Overview

The R-32 replacement for Fujitsu's old 2-zone AOU18RLXFZ is a two-port, 18,000 BTU outdoor unit that works with the same wall, slim-duct, mid-static and cassette heads as the larger Airstage multis. NEEP certifies it at 22.0 SEER2 and 10.5 HSPF2 with wall-type heads, and lists 17,000 BTU/h at 5°F from a 22,000 BTU/h rating, about 77%. Fujitsu rates heating down to 5°F, so this is a mild-winter or supplemental setup, not an extreme-cold primary heat source. The 9k ASUH09KPAS head is WiFi capable through an optional adapter. With two heads the system comes to about $3,990 in equipment, a few hundred dollars under Mitsubishi's 2D20NLHZ multi at about $5,500 but without Hyper-Heat.

  • 17,000 BTU/h at 5°F (NEEP)
  • Mixes wall, duct and cassette heads

Cold-weather output

At 5°F it still makes 77% of its rated heat, according to the certified NEEP listing for this pairing. Fujitsu General rates it to keep running down to 5°F.
