Best forBudget buyers who need a floor or under-ceiling unit and plan a pro install.
Gree's FLR12 is a convertible console that sits on the floor or hangs under a ceiling, which makes it useful in an attic conversion or a long narrow room where the only free surface is low or overhead. It pairs with the Vireo R-32 condenser for 23 SEER2, 13 EER2 and 9.5 HSPF2, with Wi-Fi included and heating rated to -22°F. The air handler measures 34-1/4 by 26-1/4 by 9-1/4 inches. At about $2,770 it costs about twice the Senville AURA floor console but sits about $400 below the Fujitsu AGUH12 and $1,600 below Mitsubishi's Hyper-Heat console, but it ships through discount retailers and its dealer network is thinner than either.
At 5°F it still makes 83% of its rated heat, according to the certified NEEP listing for this pairing. Gree rates it to keep running down to -22°F.
Pairing: VIR12HP230V1R32AO with FLR12HP230V1R32AH. Checked October 8, 2026 on NEEP's ccASHP list; a different head or condenser posts different numbers.
Yes, the air handler can be mounted on the floor or under the ceiling, which helps in rooms with awkward walls. Pre-charged linesets from 15 to 50 ft come with 1/4 x 3/8 inch connections.
It is a flare-and-vacuum system, so it still needs an HVAC contractor or an experienced installer for the warranty.
NEEP lists 12,000 BTU at 47°F and 10,000 BTU at 5°F, about 83%, with COP 1.9. Gree rates it to -22°F, SEER2 is 23 and HSPF2 9.5.
This costs $2,769 against $2,050 for the CAS12, but offers -22°F against the cassette's 5°F floor. The cassette needs a ceiling opening.
