Best forA large shop, addition or bonus room in a mild-winter area where a cheap self-install 2-ton is the goal.
The Easy Pro 24k puts 24,000 BTU/h of cooling and a 25,000 BTU/h heating rating into a self-install kit for rooms up to about 1,050 sq ft. AHRI certifies it at 18.9 SEER2 and 8.7 HSPF2, which is the weakest efficiency in MRCOOL's current single-zone range, and the price reflects it at roughly $2,109 against well over $2,700 for the DIY 5th Gen 24k. NEEP lists 17,000 BTU/h at 5°F, about 68% of its 25,000 BTU/h rated heat, with no Energy Star cold-climate flag. For a heated shop or a bonus room in a moderate climate that is a fair trade; for a house that depends on this head through January it is not. The update from earlier Easy Pro kits is a shorter 11.5 ft lineset and a better stated warranty.
At 5°F it still makes 68% of its rated heat, according to the certified NEEP listing for this pairing. MRCOOL rates it to keep running down to -13°F.
Pairing: EZPRO-24-HP-C-23011DE-O with EZPRO-24-HP-WMAH-230DE-O. Checked October 8, 2026 on NEEP's ccASHP list; a different head or condenser posts different numbers.
Yes on the refrigerant side, with a precharged 11.5 ft R-454B lineset and no pump. The condenser weighs about 96 lb net, so plan a pad or wall bracket. The 3/8 in. liquid and 5/8 in. gas lines are larger than on smaller Easy Pro sizes.
NEEP lists 25,000 BTU at 47°F and 17,000 BTU at 5°F, about 71% of the 24,000 nameplate, with COP 2.08. MRCOOL rates it to -13°F but it is not ENERGY STAR cold climate certified.
The Easy Pro is $241 cheaper at $2,109 against $2,350. The Perfect Aire keeps 19,800 BTU at 5°F against 17,000, has a longer 25 ft lineset and 7-year coverage.
