CAS12HP230V1R32AH / VIR12HP230V1R32AO
~$2,050approximate retailer price at last check, equipment only
Best forBudget cassette installs where a 360-degree discharge is wanted.
The CAS12 is Gree's 360-degree four-way cassette, matched with the Vireo R-32 condenser for 23 SEER2, 13 EER2 and 9 HSPF2. The retailer lists a 12,000 BTU nameplate with modulation from 2,300 to 16,000 BTU/h and 10,000 BTU/h held at 5°F, and Wi-Fi is factory-installed in the condenser. The cassette is 22-7/16 inches square, 10-7/16 tall and 37.5 lb, and the decorative grille is included. At $2,050 it is about $500 above the Pioneer Quantum Ultra cassette but around $1,000 under the Fujitsu ACUH12 and $1,400 under the Mitsubishi one-way, with ratings that sit between them. The trade for the price is a 5-year warranty and Gree's smaller dealer presence.
At 5°F it still makes 83% of its rated heat, according to the certified NEEP listing for this pairing. Gree rates it to keep running down to 5°F.
Pairing: VIR12HP230V1R32AO with CAS12HP230V1R32AH. Checked October 8, 2026 on NEEP's ccASHP list; a different head or condenser posts different numbers.
About 22-7/16 inches square and a condensate path. The GREETF05 grille is included.
It is one of the cheaper ones: $2,050 against $3,086 for the Fujitsu 12k and $3,098 for the Daikin 15k, though the Pioneer Quantum Ultra cassette is about $500 less. SEER2 is 23 and HSPF2 9.
NEEP lists 12,000 BTU at 47°F and 10,000 BTU at 5°F, about 83%, with COP 1.9, but Gree's floor is 5°F. It suits moderate winters better than deep cold.
It is a flare-and-vacuum system, so plan on a contractor. Gree lists 5 years of manufacturer coverage; confirm with the seller what an unlicensed install does to it.
