Best forGrid-ceiling rooms and offices that want the best-rated 12k cassette.
Fujitsu's compact four-way cassette is the most efficient cassette in this catalog: 23.7 SEER2, 14.1 EER2 and 11.5 HSPF2 (region IV) on an R-32 system, with 13,600 BTU of cooling and 19,400 BTU of heating at its listed capacity point. The body measures 22-7/16 by 22-7/16 by 9-5/8 inches and weighs 35 lb, small enough to drop into a standard grid ceiling, and the UTG-CCGFGA grille is included. Wi-Fi is an optional Airstage accessory, not built in. At about $3,100 it undercuts the Mitsubishi one-way cassette by around $400 and out-rates it on both efficiency numbers, though its heating range tops out at -5°F rather than the -13 to -22°F Mitsubishi's Hyper-Heat line claims.
At 5°F it still makes 97% of its rated heat, according to the certified NEEP listing for this pairing. Fujitsu General rates it to keep running down to -5°F.
Pairing: AOUH12KUBS1 with ACUH12KUAS. Checked October 8, 2026 on NEEP's ccASHP list; a different head or condenser posts different numbers.
The cassette is 22-7/16 inches square, which fits between 24 inch grid tiles. The lineset is 1/4 x 3/8 inch to 98 ft.
NEEP lists 16,000 BTU at 47°F and 15,500 BTU at 5°F, about 97%, with COP 2.02. HSPF2 is 11.5, the highest of the cassettes listed here, and the maker's floor is -5°F.
Fujitsu's base term is 5 years on parts and 7 on the compressor. A licensed-contractor install registered online within 60 days raises it to 10 years on both, and a Fujitsu Elite contractor install to 12, so a self-install gives up the longer coverage.
The cassette frees wall space and spreads air from the ceiling; the floor console sits at the baseboard. The cassette needs a framed ceiling opening and a condensate path.
